@Timur Hm I have a rectangular reader and it seems to make all the difference. It would appear that the driver is not all that accurate so needs a bigger image to validate the swipe. The proprietory drivers are probably just alot better at doing it with smaller images since they are designed around specific devices and not generically like libfprint.
