Public bug reported: Binary package hint: clamav-daemon
On my server, Feisty, all updates applied, clamav-daemon (0.90.2-0ubuntu1.4) frequently goes "mad" eating 100% CPU for several minutes or more for no visible reason. clamd consumed cpu time is over 150 hours after 20 days server uptime... This issue will force me to quit using the clamav daemon on this production server and revert to the standalone-called clamscan binary, provided it behaves better... (I've used clamav-daemon for years on non-Ubuntu distros and never saw such evil behaviour...) Furthermore, clamav-freshclam logs keeps complaining that the mirrors refuse to send signatures updates for an "outdated version", which happens when the clamav version is really... outdated. I tick this as a "security vulnerability", as this looks like preventing an anti-virus from getting new virus signatures... ** Affects: clamav (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Visibility changed to: Public -- clamav-daemon eats 100% CPU forever on feisty server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157154 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
