I can confirm this issue having Yoga 500 ISK (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz).
Symptoms: keyboard automatic repeating works randomly, mouse block selection works randomly (unable to select particular text block), battery randomly disappears from the panel, unable to control brightness. Other observations: - xev looks like receiving unknown event which "breaks/interrupts" current keyboard/mouse events - when switched to text console login (by Ctrl-Alt-F2), it shows periodical spamming with "^@" terminal sequence. - maybe not related, but after the kernel upgrade, my relatively fresh HD starts complaining that it will die within 24hours (it is however claiming that already for couple of days; funny thing is that it passed 3x long SMART test [smartctl -t long /dev/sda]) - first I thought it may be caused by interl-microcode upgrade, but when downgraded issues still remain. the only way how to fix it (except the HD SMART issue) is to downgrade the kernel to the 4.10.0-42-generic #46~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Dec 4 15:57:59 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742973 Title: After installing and booting this kernel laptop keyboard and touchpad no longer work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe/+bug/1742973/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
