Is there anything new with this issue? With the patch for Spectre and Meltdown flaws, the default kernel in 16.04 has to be upgraded from 4.10.0-42 to 4.13.0-26. But nvidia-340 340.104 drivers do not work with kernel 4.13.0-26. And newer nvidia drivers (for example 384) do not support old GPUs such as GeForce 200 series.
I have a GeForce 210 GPU, and I am stuck with kernel 4.10.0-42 (and its vulnerabilities) because of this issue. This issue has thus became critical for users with an old nVidia GPU. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1718839 Title: nvidia-340 340.104-0ubuntu1: nvidia-340 kernel module failed to build (error: initialization from incompatible pointer type [-Werror =incompatible-pointer-types] .fault = _fault,) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-340/+bug/1718839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
