I'll give it another go later on. I am relatively new to Ubuntu, I had Fiesty for all of about 5 days before Gutsy came out but I am pretty sure that the splash screen didn't work for me there either. I just was playing around at that point evaluating if I wanted to dump gentoo and finally make the move to (K)Ubunutu. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the advice though, I would like to get this working. I don't know if I actually want the splash itself but I would like to get a FB working so I can better watch the boot process.
