Public bug reported: I tried to install selinux with sudo apt-get install selinux.
Upon reboot one of the error messages was that the file system was not writable and could not make the directory /root/selinux. There was another complaint that may be related to gnome on the system, but that may not be relevant. I could not switch screens and log in to fix anything. When I tried and the password was accepted the screen would blank and give another login prompt. I booted the system on an installation CD and remounted the directories on /mnt. Then I chroot to /mnt and then did sudo apt-get remove selinux. I had to do the recover routine and dpkg and then clean to get the system back to being stable. I can't confirm which version of selinux it was (probably in the logs).
