"@Roberto: can you please run webbrowser-app in a terminal and paste here the output? Is the application crashing, or hanging?"
No, he can't get the output, because the system is completely unresponsive. I tried to redirect terminal output to a file, but the file was empty. I did, however, take a very good picture of the screen, and can send you an image if it will help. There are several error messages, including: (webbrowser-app:2541): dconf-CRITICAL **: unable to create file '/run/user/1000/dconf: Permission denied. dconf will not work properly. libGL errors MESA-LOADER: failed to retrieve device information Version 4 or later of flush extension not found failed to load driver: i915 There are many other errors--too many to type unless I'm certain it will help. I have the identical symptoms as in comment 13. System is similar except I have Inspiron with i5 processor. Same Intel graphics. I am running Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit. The system draws the frame for the window, but the app does not draw its own space. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1577168 Title: Browser hangs Ubuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/+bug/1577168/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
