Same for me. I have a ATI Mobility Radeon M6 LY. In Feisty I had a garbled UI but it was solved using the Blender mesa-static version. That made me think that it was an incompatibility between my graphics card and the ATI open driver or OpenGL.
But in Gutsy, neither the 2.44, 2.44-static, 2.45 or 2.45-static works.
