Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
No problem, it's a perfectly fine bug report, and you've included the `upgrade-software-version`-tag :) Normally newer package versions are synced automatically from Debian to Ubuntu. This hasn't happened for zsh since it contains some Ubuntu- specific changes (note the ubuntu-part in the version number "5.2-5ubuntu1"). In some cases, the changes have been included in the newer version either in Debian or upstream, then the package can be synced without losing any changes. In other cases, the additional changes are still needed and the package needs to be manually merged. When merging, someone basically takes the latest package version from Debian and reapply all the Ubuntu-specific changes. I only briefly skimmed the Ubuntu-changes and the Debian changelog, but it looks like this will need a merge. Thus, I've added the `needs- debian-merge`-tag too. ** Tags added: needs-debian-merge -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1734223 Title: Update package to zsh 5.4.2 (as in Debian Buster) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zsh/+bug/1734223/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
