Same issue (and same setup) here. As reinstalling virtualbox-ose fixes it, I assume the issue causing this is that the "vboxusers" group is created by virtualbox-ose and is required by virtualbox-ose- modules-2.6.22-14-generic but the modules are setup before the userspace tools, and thus this group does not exist.
Nevertheless, the error message "chown: `:vboxusers': invalid group" also looks like there is a typo (double ':' maybe?) in the chown invocation. This is apparently a duplicate of Bug #153819 -- virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.22-14-generic: fails to create /dev/vboxdrv https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154630 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
