I can't confirm this, I have just installed linux-backports-modules and linux-backports-modules-generic and am runningt $(uname -) "2.6.22-14-generic" and sound definitely doesn't work. Before I rebooted to try this Kernel I was running 2.22-13-generic with sound working. So this definitely is no fix for my problem, sorry guys but the problem lies somwhere else, do you know any place where I can get a list of all changes from -13 to -14, best would be to jave a git repositry of the kernel used in Ubuntu so I could run git-bisect.
