Hmm, there aren't any indications in the Xorg.0.log file as to why totem
might be hanging, but that's not entirely a surprise since it's a totem
hang rather than an X hang.

Could you please get a backtrace at the point of freeze to see where
it's stopping?  There's some resources online to explain how to get
application backtraces:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace

It might also be worthwhile to run it through strace and post that
output.  E.g.

  strace totem ... > totem_strace.log

and then upload that file.

Also, please look in the end of .xsession_errors to see if any totem or
video related errors are posted there, and if so upload that file as
well.
