@ boricua: I am very sorry about that, but I'm a triager not a developer, so I can't do much... we all need to wait for an xchat-gnome dev, or else hope the next xchat-gnome version won't have this issue. There are lots of bugs out there and it's not so easy to fix them quickly. Usually developers focus their own attention on major bugs such as those kernel-related. In the meantime try to use 'xchat' instead of 'xchat-gnome' (I personally prefer the former as well...)
