i too can confirm false upgrade notice. During upgrade from 7.04 kubuntu to 7.10 kubuntu, sysetem failed horribly. After a reformat, and install from new Installtion of 7.10 kubuntu, the adept manager tells me an upgrade is available, and when I click on it, it says none available. this is on a older intel coppermine PIII desktop 800mhz, 440 RAM.
