I did following using synaptic uninstall Gnome Gnome-session uninstall libsane1.0.27 experimental install xubuntu add http://ppa.launchpad.net/rolfbensch/sane-release/ubuntu artful main reload install libsane 1.0.27-artful close synaptic load iscan package from epson website install it with terminal: sudo ./install.sh restart
