Public bug reported: I'm running a fresh install of ubuntu 7.10 i386 installed with the alternate cd I have a 15inch screen, resolution of 1024x768, and an nVidia RIVA TNT2 model64 with open drivers (but i see that it happens with closed drivers too)
Looking to the new "screen and graphics" setting tool, by default the resolution is set as [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the screen in "plug and play" mode. I tried to change it in [EMAIL PROTECTED] and replacing "plug n play" with "monitor 1024x768". Then I logged out, but the resolution wasn't the one i have set. Looking again to the screen and graphics tool i saw that the resolution was [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tried it many times and with lots of fresh installs, but i got always the same problem. I also noticed that with the wrong resolution when i fill the user and password fields in the login window the fonts are displayed in bold, but i don't know if this matters. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu doesn't handle resolution change properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156221 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
