Installed Gutsy, Installed Java 6, Installed Azureus, Ran Azureus -- CRASH!
Installed test .deb above, it works again. So looks like a winner to me. By the way, anyone else getting weird 'NotaFile' type errors when trying to open torrents with Right-Click Azureus?
