I don't know what package upgrade caused the problem because I just run apt update+upgrade and the upgrade changed a lot of packages. If needed I may attach \var\log\apt ... please let me know if You need it.
I have the problem with some webm 1600x1200 codec VP8 webm 2048x1526 codec VP8 mp4 1280x720 H264 (baseline profile) but not with an mp4 400x224 (constrained baseline profile) avi 1600x1200 MPEG-4 video (simple profile) I see this info clicking on the video and selecting 'properties' but I don't know a terminal command to see the same (and may be more) info. I see the problem with an installation with totem: 3.25.90.1-0ubuntu3 But I don't see the problem with another installation with totem: 3.25.90.1-0ubuntu2 running on same hardware different partition.
