The problem seems to be connecting my Asus ux560u laptop (Ubuntu 17.04) to my Edimax EW-7438RPn router. The signal strength seems ok, and this issue happens only with my Edimax EW-7438RPn router.
With my other router (Vtech) I have no issues using this laptop.
