Random freezes here too using a Toshiba Satellite A200 with onboard Intel graphics card, running up to date Gutsy Gibbon, Compiz and AWM. I can reproduce the freeze by selecting text in a webbrowser (tested with Firefox, Konqueror and Epiphany) and dragging text to the desktop. Mouse still works, sound keeps on playing, no response at all to keyboard input. Pretty much like bootsbradford reports.
