Luis, the point is to stick with ubuntu . i got it working with feisty a while ago by doing that DSDT.aml edit thing on the gentoo forums (not the wiki link). from the looks of it we have to make a DSDT.aml for each model in the series. there even is a site that keeps track of them , so if you make one then you can submit it there for other people. it requires you to rename some variables in a file , not all the edit instructions worked for me, i started removing edits untill i found the ones causing the problem. tried to get it perfect but failed. after renaming the variables you need to compile it. i found the instructions were really easy. i think 3 commands or so. It finally ran with acpi=on (that means battery stuff works), my sound is working (no volume problems, no hda-intel stuff needed) and cpu fan works, but when i do 3d stuff then the lappy crashes after a while and gets very very hot. (gpu fan not running? no compiz, no games like wow. at least not longer than +-20min ) another thing that is a problem is the +-20s delady on bootup while giving some pci error. one of the newer ubuntu kernerls makes the delay less but not the error.
I have not tried again and i have not updated to the 4.0 firmware in case it gets worse like it did with this dreaded 3.0 ( vista ready ) update . does gutsy still have this problem? anyone?
