** Description changed: Several webkit1 reverse-dependencies have been removed from Debian Testing ('buster'). While I'd like to see them removed from unstable too (or ported away from webkit1), that will take quite a while longer. Removed from testing ==================== bibledit-gtk (note that the source package bibledit is ok and it ships the same package names) cyclograph gnome-web-photo gnucash gphedit luakit + monodevelop thawab xiphos xtrkcad webkitgtk-sharp3 zekr Scheduled for autoremoval on or after August 13 =============================================== sparkleshare sugar-read-activity typecatcher webkitgtk-sharp3 Never in Debian =============== lightdm-webkit-greeter Mike Gabriel from Debian MATE has begun preparing web-greeter (the renamed version of lightdm-webkit-greeter) Not scheduled for removal in Debian yet but why not? ==================================================== blam See Also ======== LP: #1588150 Other Info ========== I think the most difficult one on this list for some people is gnucash. Fedora 27 (due ~November) is actually bundling webkit1 inside the gnucash packaging. There will be a beta version of gnucash ported to gtk3 available later this year. Hard to say whether it's better to offer a beta or just remove it entirely. The other hard one is empathy. It has been ported to webkit2 in git, but nobody at GNOME cares enough or has enough confidence in it to release a new version from git master. Fedora might handle this one. + monodevelop may be useful to some people but I don't think Mono ever got + around to releasing a stable gtk3 version of Mono. + Arch Linux has already completely removed webkit1.
