I'm sorry, I was completely wrong about the 3.x branch not being azureus. (I really should have tried it instead of just reading about it on their website.) I've been running azureus 3.0.3.4 for several weeks now on both feisty and gutsy without any problems, using sun's jre instead of gcj. As long as you don't try to compile it with gcj it works without any problems, so I don't see why it couldn't be included.
