I'd like to back up this request.

The "new upstream release" of Xalan-C (1.11) has made its way into
Debian stable (it's there even in Jessie), and while it doesn't seem to
be getting much maintenance attention recently, it is part of Debian
main archive, so is presumably secure and stable enough.

While the xml-security-c home page says that the state of Xalan-C is
unclear, it is currently the only way to support XPath and XSLT in xml-
security-c.
