Public bug reported: I have a upgraded my Kubuntu Feisty into Gutsy. My laptop is a Dell latitude D610 with Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.00GHz and with ATA FUJITSU MHV2080A as hard drive
I used to have a noisy hard disk on Feisty and so I put: pci=bios idle=halt acpi_sleep=s3_bios in my /boot/grub/menu.lst The noise disappeared with this modification. However, when I upgraded to Gutsy, the noise appeared again, even with the standard modification of menu.lst. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Noisy hard disk Gutsy (configuring grub is not enough) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155142 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
