Checked back on this and found both a corresponding Debian report and
that the issue had been fixed. editra 0.7.20+dfsg.1-3 in Ubuntu 16.04
contains a desktop file and shows up in the dash. (Seemed like it used a
blank icon, haven't checked whether that was expected) But overall the
main issue seems resolved, so I've taken the liberty of marking this as
Fix released :)
