Public bug reported: Installed from Gutsy release Live CD using the following procedure to work around the initramfs problem:
% live-nosplash-powerpc break=premount ... (initramfs) modprobe ide_core (initramfs) exit The live CD then boots with errors about Bonobo and date set to 1904. Ran the installer successfully. Reboot, got to yaboot, selected 'Linux'. Final message is "Loading, please wait." After that the screen slowly changed colors to various blues and then faded to white. At this point the machine is non-responsive and I cannot get to virtual terminals. Attempt to boot to single-user mode produced the same result. Ideas or steps for further diagnosis? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 7.10 won't boot on G4 PPC (15" TiBook, ATI 9000) after successful install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
