Forgive the double post - I forgot to mention that this problem is brand new to Gutsy - the dongle worked out-of-the-box in Feisty.
I also have an Edimax EW7117 wireless dongle which uses the zd firmware, but I cannot bring myself to set it up manually *again* - plus it's very temperemental even when it does work.
