Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
I upgraded my hp compaq nx7010 laptop to gutsy today and find upon reboot that the system freezes up as soon as X loads (so before even getting into gdm). I am on a "ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000]" card according to lspci (sticker simply says radeon mobility 9200), and find that the direct rendering that used to work perfectly on feisty (1280x800) is now seriously broken, rendering me unable to use compiz-fusion. I would appreciate any solution to this problem so I can use direct rendering again, downgrading server-xorg-video-ati to feisty's version did stop the freeze, but still didn't provide direct rendering due to errors in /usr/lib32/dri/r200_dri.so . ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gutsy freezes when X starts with direct rendering on radeon 9200 (worked fine on Feisty) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
