Thanks paelzer! I tried yesterday the following image, Netboot install:

http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/zesty/main/installer-
ppc64el/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/ppc64el/vmlinux

http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/zesty/main/installer-
ppc64el/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/ppc64el/initrd.gz

I did default installation, without marking additional software to be installed 
in the end of the installer.
Noticed that ethtool wasn't available after boot.
