i suspect it was malicious, pretty sure it was my teacher in my IT program. thank you for looking into it and getting back to me. i was having quite a hard time removing the issue but as i need my system for school i wiped and re installed losing my data in the process. is there any tips you might be able to give me in securing my system a little better? currently i use arpalert,arpwatch,chrootkit,and lynis. any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated. again thank you for your time.
