I have the same problem. After trying to write a DVD with k3b, I could see the same messages as Achraf in /var/log/messages (except that my DVD+-RW is hdd, not hdc). After that, no DVD - written or blank - is recognized in the unit. So I can't read any DVD, nor I can burn another blank.
It's annoying, as I already started to think to switch Ubuntu to some other distro.
