Vasya - sorry to unintentionally ignore your posts in between. I worked on this straight this morning on without refreshing the page in between - so I just didn't see them at all. I was made aware now - I really beg your pardon!
At least out of my debug I can now easily create a test pic which is perfect to cause this. The TL;DR of what I was missing is that it is not about consuming a lot (or not) but much more about why it does not free it up in the case of the exceed of execution time.
