Thanks for letting us know you got it fixed. We could investigate the
failure more with the desktop install if you'd like, but please reopen
with additional info to describe how the xorg is broken, and attach
/var/log/Xorg.0.log if available, output from running startx, lspci
-vvnn, and ddcprobe.
