Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

The Dell Latitude D620 fails to wake up after being suspended, running
an up-to-date Gutsy. This is with no changes to /etc/default/acpi-
support.

After selecting System->Quit->Suspend:
o the laptop quickly goes to sleep.
o The Power LED slowly pulses, indicating sleep.

Upon opening the lid or pressing the power button:
o the laptop powers up and there's a bit of disk activity
  o the screen flickers once
o Yellow text "Linu" is displayed in the upper-left corner.
o All disk activity stops, and the machine hangs there.

There is no response to Ctrl-Alt-Del, or Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. I can't
Alt-Fx to a text console. X never even appears, and the only way to
reboot is by holding down the power button (equivalent to pulling the
plug on a desktop).

Hibernate works, although I get a blank "notification" window in the
bottom right of my screen after waking up. That may be the "Your machine
failed to hibernate" notification, but since the window is blank and
does not repaint itself before vanishing, I can't be sure. After waking
from Hibernate, if my screen is not locked, I am asked to re-unlock
gnome-keyring.

I will experiment with acpi-support settings and post my results here.
