Public bug reported: When i play music, through my built in speakers, i don't have an issue. But when i play it through my headphones is sometimes have problems. The music plays a lot slower, like in slow motion. When i switch to my builtin speakers, i notice that the rhythm is again what it should be. switching back to my headphones, it's again a lot slower. Once the issue is happening, i need to reboot my computer to have normal playback on my headphones again.
For some reason, i have the feeling that the issue is occurring 90% of the time after the computer has been locked, or in hibernation. But there are moments when it's already slow at startup. my setup: laptop, connected to external screen (Dell UltraSharp U2515H) by HDMI. Headphones connected to the external screen. But if i connect the headphones straight away on the laptop, i have the same issue. So to conclude: When i turn on my music i expect that the playback speed of youtube or livestreams should be at normal rate, and that the rate does not change when i switch from headphones to builtin speakers or vice versa ================================== Description: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Release: 16.04 ================================== alsaplayer-alsa: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-base: Installed: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 Candidate: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 Version table: *** 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status alsa-source: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 Version table: 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe i386 Packages alsamixergui: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.9.0rc2-1-9.1 Version table: 0.9.0rc2-1-9.1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-output: Installed: (none) Candidate: (none) Version table: alsaplayer: Installed: (none) Candidate: (none) Version table: alsaplayer-jack: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-common: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa: Installed: (none) Candidate: (none) Version table: alsaplayer-esd: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-gtk: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-utils: Installed: 1.1.0-0ubuntu5 Candidate: 1.1.0-0ubuntu5 Version table: *** 1.1.0-0ubuntu5 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status alsaplayer-text: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-firmware-loaders: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/multiverse amd64 Packages alsaplayer-xosd: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-tools: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-nas: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-oss: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsaplayer-interface: Installed: (none) Candidate: (none) Version table: alsaplayer-daemon: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 Version table: 0.99.81-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-tools-gui: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: 1.1.0-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages alsa-oss: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.0.28-1ubuntu1 Version table: 1.0.28-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-66.87-generic 4.4.44 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-66-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/pcmC1D0c: stijn 2402 F...m pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: stijn 2402 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: stijn 2402 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Fri Mar 24 10:01:46 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-09-21 (549 days ago) InstallationMedia: It PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: alsa-driver Symptom: audio Symptom_AlsaPlaybackTest: ALSA playback test through plughw:HDMI failed Symptom_Card: Built-in Audio -
