Hello Tormod, unfortunately I have since bought and installed an Nvidia
graphics card so that I could finish the installation on this machine
and as a result I can't now reproduce the original problem that I had
with the onboard ATI chipset.

Also the problem with the onboard ATI chipset prevented me from actually
installing Ubuntu 7.10 in the first place so I don't think I would have
been able to provide the X server information required.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Regards
Brian
