here is the xorg.conf I think I already know what you are going to say: The resolution in this xorg.conf file is wrong. In the Screen section it says:
Modes "1024x768" instead of Modes "1680x1050" As I'm not a xorg specialist, I just changed that line and tested. Same Problem. I have to say, my laptop display is broken so I can't tell you what happens there. But I would guess, that it is set up perfectly correct.
