Public bug reported:

Dear all,

Despite having indicator-messages installed on Ubuntu 16.10, it does not
show up in the top panel on startup.

Is there any way to manually start indicator-messages to see if there is
any error message?

orschiro@x230:~$ sudo apt install indicator-messages
[sudo] password for orschiro:

indicator-messages is already the newest version
(13.10.1+15.10.20150505-0ubuntu1).
