Public bug reported: As my *compiz* installation seems very unstable (freezes) I installed *fusion-icon* to be able to restart *compiz* easily (and frequently). However when I start fusion-icon (in a terminal) it crashes with the following message:
* Detected Session: gnome * Searching for installed applications... -- /usr/bin/compiz -- /usr/bin/metacity -- /usr/bin/xfwm4 -- /usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator * Opening CompizConfig context compizconfig - Error: Unable to find interface type 2 on 0x7fb73b0561a0 This is either a programmer error or more than one static library defining this interface has been linked in Unable to continue, please file a bug about this (When I start it in the dash it crashes, too, only I cannot see the output.) Bug 1182606 has a remotely similar message but it is four years old and “fixed”. I am running Ubuntu 16.10 (4.8.0-41-generic #44) with daily updates. fusion-icon --version says: fusion-icon-0.0.0. Apt-cache policy calls it “0.1.0-3ubuntu1”. ** Affects: fusion-icon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1671916 Title: fusion-icon: Unable to find interface type 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fusion-icon/+bug/1671916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
