Have the same issue on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.10. Same thing on live CD.
When running /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/indicator-power/indicator-power- service , have the message "indicator-power-Message: exiting: service couldn't acquire or lost ownership of busname".
