Hey Martin, It's just an inotify monitor. Read how that works, you will see what's the performance (close to zero, and everyone uses them, not just tracker).
Don't take it bad please, but I wouldn't like to spam this bug report more, we should settle down on basic knowledge about how the kernel inotify and file system works and its implications and impact on performance.
