Finally got around to reproducing this issue with -rc8. Unfortunately it hasn't been fixed upstream - the same behavior happens. Same log line:
[drm:intel_display_resume [i915]] *ERROR* Restoring old state failed with -22 I'm about 90% sure this is a regression between kernel 4.2 on wily and kernel 4.8+. Presumably I could play with git bisect compiling a vanilla kernel to pinpoint the regression. Are there any system services that might be broken by temporarily downgrading to ~4.2 as part of the bisect process? ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1661475 Title: i915 driver fails to resume display from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1661475/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
