Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

When connecting an old ipod which recently got hung up (and now seems to
have lost all the information stored on it - it starts up and menus etc
work but there is no content - no music) I try to 'Connect' to this
device in AmaroK (which I've used without much problem before).

When I select Connect, /var/log/syslog reads:

Amarok offers to initialize the ipod as it says it cannot find the
ituned Db on the device.

If I select yes, AmaroK gives an error message saying it failed to
initialize the device,

Amarok does handle this issue better than Rythmbox ( see bug# 122531 )
but could anyone please advise on a possible resolution?

** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
