Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openarena
Hardware: Dell Vostro E4300

Video Card: Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express Integrated Graphics Controller
Bus Type: PCI

Video Driver: "intel - Experiment modesetting..." (I can't get the rest
of the driver information from the gui).

Problem: Video switches to windowed mode while retaining the mouse and
keyboard. The mouse and keyboard do not control the game, but they are
not available to X either (making it impossible to quit the game through
the menu). This happens randomly while playing and has no discernible
cause.

Workaround: ctrl+alt+backspace does not work, but ctrl+alt+f1 does
work. Switching to terminal and doing

ps -ef | grep arena
kill <pid from above>

restores X to a working state instantly.

After killing the game relaunching it is not bugged.
