Public bug reported: I have no idea what causes this, but randomly for no reason i can see (but i assume there has to be a reason for it) my system just freezes, and does not respond to anything, i can't use the mouse or keyboard, i can't switch to a virtual terminal to try and cleanly shutdown, i just have to press the button to cold reboot.
I have tried doing the ubuntu device database thing to try and send a report to see if it's a hardware issue but for some strange reason I can't get past the sound detection, i CAN'T hear the test sound, but can hear pidgin beeping at me in the background and to prove it's not me using OSS instead of alsa, i can also hear banshee playing my music at the same time. If there is anyway i can collect the information to help with this bug i will, but it's a bit of a show-stopper for me. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- system crash, whole system freezes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
