Thanks for those observations. It may be that we're just low on free file descriptors or some other resource because of all the inotify watches and hence thermald can't open the file for writing. It's hard to tell. Anyhow, thermald should not be spamming the log, so we need to fix thermald not to spam the log so aggressively.
