I've not used the patch provided in the upstream report (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1807476&group_id=14653&atid=114653).
My patch makes sure, that the parameters for array_merge are of type array always (to mimic the PHP4 behaviour). This fix _should_ work, but I've not tested it.
