Hi,
I found similar reports which were related to a specific arm board, its device 
tree and timer.
In that case the device tree set the meson timer as the default and with that 
the armv8 timer instructions failed.

The thread has much more details, but this is the most simple solution to try.

Please report if that fixes your issue, if not please report in as much
detail as available what exact arm board you have and how your device
tree looks like (http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/265890/is-it-
possible-to-get-the-information-for-a-device-tree-using-sys-
of-a-running).
