When looking at libuninameslist, you need to think of these like you would think of paperback books. Once these libraries are published, they will not be updated.
Information: It seems that each year, unicode.org updates the unicode charts with refinements, improvements, and updates, for example, going from Unicode 8 (2015) to Unicode 9 (2016), there are a few thousand updates. Since these charts are fluid and changing, several functions have also been added into recent versions of libuninameslist to make it easier to quickly query information based on which list is loaded. Existing programs are not really needing these sort of functions at the moment, but these functions do allow for the potential of loading different library versions if anyone sees a need for that sort of functionality. Summary: Updating any particular version of libuninameslist is highly unlikely, and timewise, you are always better-off loading a more current/recent version unless you need to work with some very old data.
